I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
